The kids acted well, but they mumbled their lines and my narrators weren't as clear as I might have wished. The flags/banners were a huge hit with the judges. And the audience loved my court jester doing flips down the aisle.
The foil started peeling off during the sword fight (which was what I thought would happen, and was why I insisted we rehearse with yardsticks, not our swords) - plus a T square actually cracked!
Tybalt and Romeo died well; Juliet did a great job freaking out over Romeo, and offed herself well, but she picked her head up a bit early.
All in all, we did a great job. Some of the other groups had drama classes, and their acting was better. But we're the only ones who had home-made swords so that everyone had a sword. And we had the flags.
